What’s your average mpg on the interstate?

I’ve been driving mostly on I-10 with just a bit of city driving mixed in. What kind of interstate mpg do you get?

I’m getting around 33-34 mpg too, which is surprising since I thought it was only rated for 29.

When I manually track my gas consumption at fill-ups, I’m getting closer to 29 mpg. But the car’s computer always says it’s around 32. Guess they try to keep us optimistic.

I posted about this before, and someone said they couldn’t get over 27 mpg. For reference, I get about 25 in my ‘07 Mustang.

At home with lots of stopping and starting, I only get about 17 mpg. But during a 10-hour drive yesterday, I hit 32 mpg.

Please don’t take pics on your phone while driving 78 mph. It’s not worth it.

Why doesn’t mine show the little Bronco picture on the screen?

That shows up when cruise control and the distance setting are on. It lets you know there’s a car in front of you.

What the heck, mine barely hits 8-9 mpg. Wait… oh, I see, metric settings. My bad!

I’ve managed to get 35-36 mpg a few times.

I usually get around 32-33 mpg at 70 mph in the summer (1.5L engine). If I drive slower, it goes up to 34-35 mpg. It’s less in the winter when it’s freezing outside. I saw your comment about your Mustang—I’ve got an ‘07 GT too, and I can hit 30 mpg if I keep it under 75 mph.

@Amari
Switching to 3.73 gears killed my mpg, plus I usually set cruise control at 85-90 on I-10.

Haha, I guess I drive more like an old man… probably because I am one. Sounds like you’re having a blast with yours though. Good for you!

Yeah, it’s got 210k miles, and I drive it hard and race it sometimes.

What year is your car? That’s a lot of miles.

It’s a 2021. I originally bought it as a work car and put 60k miles on it in the first year.

That’s actually pretty impressive. Sounds like it’s holding up well.
