What’s with the low turnout for Ford's Bronco Off Roadeo? Seems like only about 30% of owners go. If you haven't tried it, I really think you should!

It’s not free. You have to figure out where to stay, and then there’s the time taken off work. I would go if that wasn’t an issue.

Is the invite free for the owner? I’m confused because they sent me an invite when I bought my Bronco in 2021, but I don’t know if it’s completely free or if there’s a cost involved. I’m picking up my 2024 in two weeks, so maybe I’ll find out then.

I just don’t have the time, and I can be lazy sometimes.

We are heading to Moab in October.

I didn’t go because they were going to charge for family members joining me.

Why would you suggest I go? I can handle the driving, and if I take time off work to travel, it will be with my whole family. My wife could benefit from the driving lessons, but I doubt she would enjoy it. The kids could have some fun, but waiting in a hot car for others will get old quickly. It seems great for those wanting to learn about driving on tough terrain but anyone who knows how to do that or isn’t interested won’t see much value in the experience. Everyone has different interests, and that’s okay.

That’s cool. To each their own. I’m experienced off-roading and still went. It was a great time. Driving a vehicle similar to yours but not yours has its own thrill. Plus, I met some awesome people. I went for the experience rather than for lessons, and I still learned a bit.

@Zhen
I understand your perspective. Mine was self-taught, and it’s been over 20 years since I’ve done any off-roading. The refresher was really helpful, and it’s also great for beginners. The new '23 Bronco is so much more advanced than my '79 Bronco and my '94 D90. The fundamentals are similar, but the tech is something else. The first part focuses on fundamentals, and the second part relies on all the new tech and combining it with the basics.

I agree. Really fun.

Funny, I did the NH event with a buddy who also bought a Bronco. We had so much fun testing Ford’s trucks.

Travel costs a lot. Many would rather spend that money on a different vacation. But I went to the Moab Off Rodeo and it was fantastic. I would return there anytime. You could combine it with a regular vacation.

The Moab Off Rodeo was unforgettable! I took my Bronco with a friend, made him cover the cost for the event, but let him drive my vehicle on some trails. He said it was totally worth it.

Money is one reason. The other is being able to take time off work.

I went to NH and drove from MI with my fiancée. We had a great time. We probably spent about $2k together. Worth every penny for the amazing experience, especially during fall.

I’m from Canada. Ford still sent us an invite out of courtesy, but it makes no sense to travel back and forth with all the costs for one day of off-roading. They don’t hold any events in Canada.

Money seems to be the big factor for many. I’m definitely going though. Free flights help a lot!

I don’t have a problem with the event. I just have enough experience and don’t feel I need it. If I’m driving 7 hours to Moab, I’d want to spend a few days enjoying my favorite trails in my own vehicle with my wife. So the event doesn’t hold much value for me. I think those who really need it and would gain from it are the 30% who actually go.

Because I live in the Midwest and the closest event is a 5+ hour flight.

I own a fully built 1989 Ford Bronco on 38-inch tires. I only get it out once a year for big trips, and the costs when I break something usually mean it takes me a year to fix it.

I’m heading to Moab in April.

(Agree that the $400 to bring someone is ridiculous)
