What do you think of my setup… any advice?

I think she’s looking great so far. I’ve been testing how well the Seasucker traction board mounts hold up on the rear quarter window. Honestly, I kind of like how they look too. I’m getting ready for a spring expedition and can’t wait to see how everything holds up.

Oh wow, a first edition! I almost bought one instead of my Big Bend, but I got a trade-in deal I couldn’t pass up. Love the color, though.

Thanks! I specifically hunted for a first edition with the cargo management system. Took forever to find one since most didn’t have that option.

What’s that thing on the back window? Looks awesome.

I’ve been testing how well the Seasucker traction board mounts hold up on the rear quarter panel, and the verdict is in: they’re rock solid!

Since I camp inside my Bronco, every bit of interior space is precious. Mounting recovery boards on the outside of the vehicle seemed like a great solution. It keeps dirty gear where it belongs—outside—and adds a bit of fun to the setup. Plus, when you get stuck, it’s easy to grab a board, toss it under the tires, and get moving again.

Oh, that’s sweet! Really like how it looks.

What did you use to set this up? I go to the beach a lot and always bring recovery boards, but I hate throwing them inside the car. This setup looks perfect.

Glad you like it! Amazon has a bunch of mini traction boards. I like these because they snap together to make a larger board and have a jack support spot. The mounts are from Seasucker. They sell recovery board and hi-lift jack mounts as a pack of four. They’re pricey, but I haven’t found many alternatives. I only used two mounts, and they hold really well.

If you want another option, YuccaMFG and Trailrax make roof racks with MOLLE panels that hang in the same spot. I’ve avoided roof racks because I like having a clear view out of the sunroof.

Love the Bronco script on the fenders. That’s the way to go.

Thanks! It felt like the perfect addition.

It’s perfect. Mine has chrome, though.

How’s the hood bug deflector working for you? I’ve heard it can make the hood shake at high speeds.

I’ve had it on since I got the car, and I like it. It doesn’t seem to shake more than my wife’s Bronco Sport, which doesn’t have a deflector. So far, no major chips in the windshield, so either it works or I’ve been lucky.

@Chen
That’s good to know! I’ve been nervous about installing mine, but I think I’ll go for it now. Too late for me, though—I’ve already got a few small chips on my windshield.

Looks like southern Maine. Cold and rough.
