What could this be worth…

Not a for sale post! What’s the value of a 71 Bronco like this? It’s not running (there was a packrat in the engine bay), but it only needs minor repairs (tubes, ignition wires, and probably some gaskets). It’s all original, has been repainted, but retains its original color. It’s a 4x4 with a 302 engine and a 3-speed manual transmission, all original parts.

Could you share a picture of the door strikers? In its current condition, I’d guess it’s worth around 40k.

@Harper
That sounds solid. I’ve owned a couple (71 and 75), and I’m only 48. My 75 was in great shape, with an automatic 302. I sold it because I was deploying and didn’t want to deal with storing it back in 2007. I regret it every time I see posts like these because I doubt I’ll ever afford another. Congrats!

@Paris
Thanks for your service. Hope you can get your truck back someday.

Thanks to both of you. I’m winding down after 28 years. It’s been great, but I’m unsure what I’ll be without being a Soldier. I’ll figure it out.

@Paris
You’ll be whatever you want to be. After I got out, I did my own thing for a few years… now I’m a DOD civilian. It still gives me that Army vibe, just less stress, and I’m out by 4:30.

What’s it worth? It depends on the buyer. For someone with deep pockets? Maybe 80-100k. Realistically, you might get 20-40k after a thorough inspection.

I’d consider going as high as 50k since I really want one. A motivated buyer reliving memories might pay more.

@San
50k is about where we stand with this one. Good to know, thanks. (Single family owner, the guy’s grandma bought it new)

I initially thought somewhere between 40-50k, nice rig.

I’d say around $29 to $36.

I have a 1969 that was the same color and in similar shape when I bought it in Bozeman MT back in 1986. In this condition, that Bronco will easily sell for over 75K, likely over 100K if you’re willing to market it and wait for the right buyer.
These trucks in this shape are incredibly rare. Just wait for the inevitable post about someone who bought one last week for 15K—it just doesn’t happen.

@Ainsley
Haha, I talked to a guy at NAPA who had the exact same model but with a Boss motor, claiming it was way better. Too bad he rolled and totaled his. He didn’t like hearing that this one is in better shape.

@Harper
I’ve heard every story. My favorites are the ones who say they’ve owned several, just flipped a pristine original for 100% profit.

They’re pretty rare now, and good or bad, the prices are sky-high. A company in GA finds Broncos, does full modern restorations, and their trucks sell for over 200K. I wonder who spends that much.

@Ainsley
Sometimes I don’t get this forum. People are totally out of touch with modern pricing.

You’re spot on with your price, and there’s always someone saying it’s 15k.

They’re trying to shift the market. I can’t blame them. If you repeat 15k enough, someone might agree and slide into the DMs.

Edit: The downvotes show I hit a nerve.

@Harper
With that kind of absurd low ball, they’re both clueless and shady.

I made an offer, and they accepted it… I think I might have messed up.
