My 2014 Explorer did the same thing and they had to replace the entire shifter assembly

That sounds crazy. I’ve tried all the suggestions, and it’s still not fixed
Thanks for making me stick with my older truck. This is a lot of issues for a new vehicle

This is confirmation bias. If I posted about problems with your older truck, would you sell it

The systems in these trucks are really buggy. I have a '19 Lariat, and it has so many small problems, from transmission issues to entertainment system glitches. That’s why I’m hesitant to try the Lightning until at least a couple of years have passed

The first two weeks were perfect. Then I suddenly started getting this transmission error and also a hill start assist error. The transmission not in park error happens every single day whenever I’m in drive and going under 2 mph. I bought the truck last month
@Tatum
For this issue, I think it’s the door sensor that’s malfunctioning and assumes a door is open

Is it cold? The switch might be getting stuck. It’s probably just a cheap micro switch. Try opening the doors and manually working the switch a few times to see if that helps. There might be a switch on the tailgate as well
@Tatum
Did you find a solution? I have the same issue with my 2021, both hill assist and transmission park messages pop up. The check engine light is also on, and I just got the car yesterday
To do a soft reset, hold the power and fast forward buttons on the big screen at the same time for 5 seconds. I had a GPS code pop up once
Bonjour, I have the same issue. How do I fix it
I had an engine overheating warning show up a few times, but the gauge showed normal
It’s a hassle for the truck to shift to neutral when I open a door. I do this to check if I’m parked in the right spot
This is likely a faulty sensor
Did you mess with your 4Low if you have a 4x4

I haven’t checked, but I will before I leave work today. Hoping it’s an easy fix before I take it in

If it’s broken, warranty should cover it
I see this all the time on my 21, it’s strange
Automatic trucks do this too. Towed one yesterday with the same message
One of your doors or the hood might be open
