Thinking of getting this Bullnose Bronco… Know nothing about it though

An acquaintance of mine has a dad selling a bullnose Bronco—don’t know the exact year, though. All I know is it’s got a 351 Windsor engine in it. He mentioned it was used as a dune truck, like most around here in MI, and it’s been parked for about a year now.

I’m planning to check it out sometime this week. According to him, it needs new transmission lines, new brake lines, a carb rebuild, and, of course, new tires. He’s asking $1,200.

This thing’s gonna need like $10k+ just to be decent :joy:

I was thinking more like doing small stuff, then flipping it for maybe $1800

So he’s paying you $1200 to take it, right? :joy:

Noted :joy:

Depends on what you plan to do with it.

If you’re looking to restore it to decent condition, be ready to spend $5,000+ just on the body. Replacing rear quarters on these isn’t cheap and you’d need welding skills.

If it’s just for off-road fun, I’d offer $500 and be ready to walk away.

@Ollie
Honestly, I was just thinking about minor work and then selling it for a bit more. But I’m cool if I don’t end up getting it.

Thanks for the tip!

Maybe it’s just me being from the south where rust isn’t wild… but this thing’s a mess, no?

If the body’s that rough, the engine’s probably seen better days too, not to mention whatever old gas is sitting in the system.

The last ORV sticker is from 5 years back… It’s probably been sitting there ever since. The frame’s likely held together by rust and, uh, mouse nests.

IF the drivetrain’s in okay shape, you could part it out and maybe make something back. But you’d have to pull out that 351W/AOD/NP208 setup. With a torch and zero patience, you could yank it in 30 minutes. Trying to do it by hand, though… probably not worth it.

Bet it’s got a C6

I always mix up which trans is which. You’re probably right. If it’s got the C6 with the SBF bellhousing, that could actually be valuable. If it’s a divorced T-case setup, it’s definitely worth pulling out.
