Is my Bronco missing something under the doors?

I was checking out some photos of my 2024 Bronco Big Bend 2-door and noticed a bare section under the doors. It kinda feels like there should be a black plastic cover or something. Does anyone else with the same trim have that part bare, or is it just how it’s supposed to be?

That’s how it comes from the factory. You can get aftermarket covers for that part or add rock sliders or steps.

Yep, mine looked exactly like that when I got it too.

Get some pinch weld covers. They’re super easy to install, cost around $80, and look great with rock rails or steps.

I don’t know of any plastic trim that goes there. My Black Diamond 2-door had rock sliders, but I swapped them out for power running boards.

If you’re selling those sliders, I’d be interested in buying them.

Ford does sell plastic rocker panel covers for around $269. They attach with 3M strips. Here’s the link: https://www.ford.com/product/trail-armor-rocker-panels-for-4door-p2982484252

The higher trims come with rock sliders in that spot. You can also go with aftermarket steps, rails, or pinch weld covers.

You should get step rails or rock sliders. Step rails also help reduce rock chips on the lower doors.

Lower trims without rock sliders come like that from the factory.

Look up pinch weld covers. They’re cheap, easy to install, and worth it.

I heard they can trap salt behind them in snowy areas. Just make sure they’re sealed properly.

Dv8 makes good ones.

Nope, it’s not missing anything.

Factory Rock Sliders

No, that’s where aftermarket parts come in.

They’re all missing that piece… lol.

Smittybilt sells covers for under $100. Or you could go with sliders or steps… lots of ways to cover it.

Yep, what you’re missing are automatic side steps. There are plenty of options… pick what suits you best. I love mine.

Ford kinda messed this up. You’re not missing anything—it’s just how they ship them. Get the pinch weld kit and put it on.
