Found this on the floor… any ideas?

I found this lying on the driver’s side floorboard of my ‘24 Wildtrak. Anyone know where it came from?

It’s a push clip. These help hold trims and parts of your car together.

The Ford dealership in Charlotte wants $8 each for these.

You can find them on Amazon for way cheaper.

That’s daylight robbery :joy:

@Kiran
That’s the price for living so close to Gastonia, I guess.

It’s a trim push rivet. You’ll find loads of them in the wheel wells, though I’m not sure about inside the car.

Honestly, it’s one of the cheapest car parts ever.

Still better than those finned clips though.

I bought a cheap pack of replacements on Amazon. Highly recommend getting some if you’re planning to mess with the interior or random parts.

But these screw-head ones? Absolute pain to deal with.

It’s called a scrivet.

That word feels like it’s banned somewhere :joy:

Yeah, moms are funny like that.

It’s called a molly at Ford. I learned that when I started working there. Apparently, all those push clips and tabs are called mollys on the production line.

Push pins, bumper clips, plastic tabs… if you’ve modded anything near your bumper or tires, you’ve seen these.

Pro tip: use a push pin removal tool instead of a flathead to avoid damaging the paint or the clip. The tool costs like $6 and makes it much easier.

I had to deal with a couple of these when installing mudflaps.

You’ll find these under the hood holding the grill in place. Amazon has them cheap if you need extras.

Scrivet. Unscrew to remove, push to secure. They’re mainly for holding trim panels in place. Ford really loves using these.

They’re pretty common. I’ve had GMs and other brands use them too.
