Hi everyone,
I’ve been looking at the 2024 Bronco Big Bend Sport and took one for a test drive recently. I really liked how it felt.
I’d mainly use it for daily drives around town and on the freeway, with occasional trips to the beach. Does anyone here own a 2024 model? Any issues so far? What are the pros and cons?
I know earlier models had some problems, and I’ve heard the back seats don’t have much space. That’s fine for me since my kids are older—one’s in college, and the other is in middle school. I’m not driving a car full of kids to activities anymore.
I’m also considering waiting for the new F66 Mini Cooper 2 Door Hardtop. Totally different vibe, I know! The new Mini looks like it’ll be a lot of fun. I used to have one and loved it. But do I really need all those fancy features like OLED screens and cool lights? I don’t even drive at night that much.
I’m trying to figure out which car makes more sense for me—something fun, safe, comfortable, and that I’ll want to keep for years. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!
We’ve had ours since 2021 and love it. It handles all kinds of weather and feels really stable on the freeway. We added All Terrain tires, and that’s been our only upgrade.
We did have two small issues—a dead battery and a water pump that gave out at 30k miles. The dealer fixed both quickly. I think those parts were made during COVID when quality might’ve been off. Overall, it’s been great.

That’s good to hear! Do you have any issues with the flip-up glass in the back? Does it leak in the rain or rattle while driving? It rains a lot here in Oregon.

I had the same minor issues with the battery and water pump, but no problems with the glass. The car’s been solid and reliable. I’ve driven it cross-country and daily in Tampa traffic. It’s fun, safe, and feels steady.

I’m in Portland and got a ‘23 Outer Banks in January. Got 0 down, 0 interest for 60 months, and $3500 off sticker. No leaks or rattles so far, and I’m getting 23 MPG even with a heavy foot. The Badlands I test drove was quicker and taller, but it wasn’t worth $10k more for me.

I love the flip glass for my dogs! No issues at all.
I have a ‘21 with 34k miles and no complaints. I’ve driven it through Manhattan and on off-road trails, and it handles everything well. I usually get 28-31 MPG per tank.
Space-wise, it’s fine. I’ve had four adults in it without complaints, but if the driver and rear passenger are both tall, it can get tight. If the car were a foot or two longer, it’d be perfect.
It’s a great value for the price. Definitely give it a test drive!

Any issues with the flip-up window in the back? Does it rattle or leak? We live in Oregon, so rain and snow are a concern.
No rattles or leaks so far. I’ve driven it in heavy rain and snow here in Pennsylvania, and it’s been solid. The slippery mode is great in bad weather.

I’ve got a ‘21 with 40k miles and no issues with the flip glass. It’s great for loading groceries—just pack everything against the door before opening it!
I got my ‘23 Big Bend in December (used with 6600 miles) and have no complaints. The only issue is Apple CarPlay not working consistently, but that seems to be common with Ford. I got an adapter, and it’s been fine since.
I’ve got a ‘24 Big Bend Sport and a 2018 Mini Cooper. Both are great, but they’re very different. The Bronco is better for hauling kids and their stuff. The Mini is more fun to drive because it handles better, but it’s not as practical for daily life.
If you’re not a spirited driver, the Bronco Sport is a better pick.
