How’s the quality? Would you recommend it? Feels like it could be an important accessory if it’s durable.
It looks cool! I’m thinking about getting something for the rear door, but $400 seems way too much. It feels like it should be around $100-150.

Why do you think it should be $100-150?
@Dara
It just looks like a simple design that shouldn’t cost so much. What justifies the price for you?

It may seem simple, but it’s made in the USA, not mass-produced in China. Manufacturing costs could be higher here. I’m not saying it’s cheap, but unless you know the exact costs, it’s hard to judge.
@Dara
For me, it’s only worth $50. Value is based on what people are willing to pay.

Well, if it costs more to produce than what you’re willing to pay, then it can’t exist. That’s just basic economics.
@Dara
True, but if the market decides it’s too expensive to produce and sell, then it just won’t survive. That’s Economics 101.
@Dara
They aren’t hand-making these. Whether it’s made in the USA or China, it shouldn’t make a huge difference. It’s just stainless steel with a coating. It’s a unique design, but let’s not act like they’re building rockets. It’s their product, they can price it as they want, but as buyers, we get to decide if it’s worth it.
@Mai
Price isn’t just about what they want to charge. It’s about the production cost and the profit margin they need. Sure, we can wish it were cheaper, but the price is set by the business’s needs, not by what we want to pay.
@Dara
Jeep sets its Wrangler prices based on demand, not on their cost to produce. Same principle applies here. Prices aren’t always about production costs.
Is it essential? Definitely not at that price. I’ve had my Bronco for two years and never felt the need for storage there. I bought a tailgate table with a molle bag rack, door handle cups, new door pockets with cup holders, and upgraded the lighting. All those were better investments for me.
@Dean
And all of that was probably cheaper than this one small lockable compartment. The price is crazy!

How’s the Mabett lighting kit? Worth it?

Totally worth it. The stock lighting is awful. Super easy to install and makes a huge difference. Honestly, some of these things should have come with the car from the start.
@Dean
Thanks! I’ll definitely consider it.
I’d put an air compressor in there, like the one from IAG.
I’m curious too, but I’m worried it’ll just cause annoying rattling noises with the stuff inside.
The air compressor kit for that space seems like a better option.
I got one. It’s great for small stuff like a first aid kit or tools. Just cushion anything metal to avoid rattling.
