Windshield cracked on my brand new car… anyone else have this problem

Glad I live in South Carolina… insurance covers one free windshield replacement per year.

Cost aside, it’s still wild that this happens so often. Feels like a design flaw if an aftermarket part is needed just to avoid constant cracks. Maybe that’s just how it is with trucks? I put 100K miles on my Toyota Solara and only had one small chip. Having a brand-new car crack this fast is frustrating.

I tell everyone to make sure they have full glass coverage before buying one of these. I knew bugs would be an issue with the windshield angle, but the constant chips and cracks are worse than I expected. About to get my fourth windshield in 3.5 years.

@Fenix
Checked my insurance, and luckily it’s covered. Still annoying, though. Calling the dealer tomorrow to see what they say.

Going to push the ‘possible defect’ angle since there’s no visible impact point. Even if it costs me the same either way, I’d rather make Ford take responsibility if they should.
