Bought a 2025 Badlands not too long ago (I know, I still owe this forum some pics). Less than 100 miles on it, and this morning I go to take it out—it’s 15 degrees outside—and I see a crack on the passenger side of the windshield.
No clue how it happened. I was on the highway yesterday, so maybe something hit it and the cold made it worse. Either way, it’s frustrating to have this happen on a brand-new car.
I read that people have had issues with cracks because of the windshield angle. If this is happening a lot, it feels like a design flaw. Of course, glass is never covered, so I doubt Ford will take responsibility.
Going to call the dealer tomorrow and see if they’ll do anything, since I just got the car. I heard that if there’s no impact point, it might be covered under warranty as a stress crack, but Ford is known for being difficult about that.
I got a crack a few months after getting my 2023. The glass on these is pretty bad. I’m hoping to find a stronger replacement when mine fully gives out.
What’s more annoying are the little divots and glares that show up over time. Also, watch out—your hood might get chipped from small rocks too.
I got the Aeroskin II to try and prevent cracks. It’s supposed to protect against rocks and bugs. No issues so far, but I also pay for windshield coverage just in case.
Back when I lived in Florida, insurance covered windshield replacements automatically. Wish other states did that too, but insurance companies pushed to make sure they don’t have to pay unless we get extra coverage. Feels like a scam.

Does the hood shake at high speeds? Read that could be a problem. Thinking of getting one when I replace the windshield.
Put one on my ‘21 after getting a couple of rock chips. Never had another rock hit the windshield after that. When I got my ‘24, I ordered another one immediately.
Wipers work the same, not sure why people say otherwise.
No hood shaking, and I drive 80-85 mph often.
No noticeable drop in gas mileage.
Definitely worth getting, and I think it looks good on the car too.

Super helpful, thanks! If I replace my windshield at the dealer, I’ll have them install this too. Do you have the matte or glossy one? Looks like all the newer ones are matte.

Mine is matte. Pretty sure all the Aeroskin IIs are matte now. AVS makes other deflectors that are shiny, but the one for the Bronco Sport seems to only come in matte.
I have a 2021 Bronco Sport. No major issues, but a truck kicked up some rocks on the highway and chipped the upper driver’s side. Didn’t know this was a common problem. Hoping I don’t need a full replacement.
2022 Bronco Sport Badlands, no windshield issues so far. The angle does make it more likely to take damage, though. I’d check if the dealer will cover it under warranty since your car is so new. Don’t drive it before taking it in.
