What are the cons of the Bronco Raptor?

Thanks! None of those seem like deal-breakers for me.

Sounds like you’re all set then! :slight_smile:

It doesn’t come in a 2-door version.

The Raptor only comes with 4 doors.

No 2-door version, no manual transmission, and those giant fender flares are not my favorite.

I’ve driven two of them that the dealer let me test for a weekend, and I couldn’t find any real negatives. I even got some air with one of them, and it held up! My only hesitation is the price.

Considering where you live, I don’t see any cons.

You’re dune driving every weekend in Dubai? What are you waiting for? Get your Bronco Raptor already!

I’m just worried about the build quality. If it rattles after one trip, that would really bother me.

Wish I could afford a Raptor…

It’s a bit wide for some obstacles, and the windshields are prone to cracking from road debris. I’ve already got a few chips in mine.

I’ve had my ‘23 Raptor for about 3 months. I love it, but here are some nitpicky cons I’ve noticed:

  1. The transmission isn’t the smoothest, and it jerks a bit.
  2. The interior rattles over bumps.
  3. There’s some body roll in turns.
  4. Minor rust spots are showing up already.
  5. The exhaust sound could be more aggressive.
  6. The rear fender flares look a bit awkward.
  7. The ride is better than a Wrangler but not as good as my TRX.
  8. The 37” tires are overkill; I’d prefer 35” tires.
  9. Lots of plastic inside and no rear vents.
  10. The stock wheel offset is too tucked in for my taste.

@Lennox
Thanks for this! The transmission jerking shouldn’t be a problem for me since I won’t be flooring it on the highway. I’ll mostly use the paddles for off-roading. Does the car shift automatically in manual mode? And does it limit downshifts like other cars?

@Lennox
Did you buy it new? How long before the rattles started? That would annoy me too, especially with how I plan to use it.

I haven’t used the paddles, I just leave it in auto. The 3.0 is fast once it gets moving, but the downshifts in sport mode are a bit rough. I bought a demo model with 6k miles, so the previous owner might’ve caused the rattles.

The fender flares are functional but look terrible. Other than that, most of the typical ‘cons’ aren’t a big deal to Raptor buyers.

I hate the fender flares too. I’m going to get them in the body color to make them more bearable.

@Shan
Yeah, they look better in body color, but still not great. Personally, I’d just save the money and get a non-Raptor.

For me, there are two big cons:

  1. Fuel economy and gas tank size. If you’re going off-road for long distances, you’ll need to plan your fuel stops.
  2. The stereo. No matter which option you pick, they all sound bad. Get the lux package so you can hook up an aftermarket system. Mobridge has a good option.
  3. Aftermarket support isn’t as strong as it is for Jeeps or Toyotas, but the Raptor comes pretty well-equipped already.
