Is This Bronco Raptor Deal Worth It?

A dealership is offering this for $78k after a $15k rebate, and they’re also giving me $15k for my trade-in. Does this seem like a fair deal or should I wait? Any advice?

The three Raptors near me are listed at $88k, and I think I could probably get them to knock off about $10k, based on my experience buying a Wildtrak. With 2025 models coming out soon, $78k is decent but not a steal. People who paid $100k might feel differently, though.

I owned a First Edition and absolutely loved it, but the Raptor is on an entirely different level. If you enjoy off-roading, the answer is simple: go for it. There really is no comparison to a standard Bronco. While it might share a passing resemblance, the Raptor is a completely distinct machine through and through.

@Dakota
I don’t off-road because my current truck is 2WD (bought it back when I was a young and not so smart army private, but it’s paid off now). I’m looking to get something that’s actually good off-road and works on the beach. This deal seems solid. What kind of MPG do you get?

@Dale
You’re not still that young private, are you? (I was a clueless newbie myself once.) Just know this truck takes a lot to maintain.

I rarely drive mine since I have two other Raptors. When I do, I get about 10–11 MPG.

@Dakota
Nope, that was 7 years ago after my first deployment. I’m an E7 now and just ready for something new and better.

Thank you for your service, my friend.

If you’re into serious off-roading, the Raptor is incredible. But honestly, even a regular Bronco can handle more off-road situations than most people need. The Raptor is for going all-out—or just flexing in the Costco parking lot.

@Dale
I get around 14.5 MPG on my commute (75 miles round trip). Just driving around town, it’s closer to 13. That’s on 91 octane—if I use 87, I lose 1–2 MPG.

Is this brand new? What’s your trade-in, and how many miles are on it? Any add-ons? Did you check what Carvana would give you?

It’s a brand-new 2024 Ford Bronco Raptor. I checked other Ford dealers, and they’re offering even less for my trade-in.

@Dale
What’s the sticker price for the Bronco? Keep in mind, you’re negotiating two deals: one for the Bronco and one for your trade-in. Did you try Carvana?

Sounds like a great deal. Are you financing, and is the $78k the total out-the-door price? Sometimes they sneak in extra fees like paint protection.

I’ll be financing through my bank. So far, they’ve said it’s a bit over $78k with taxes and fees included. I’ll know more when I visit in person, but it does feel too good to be true.

@Dale
Maybe it’s legit. Interest rates are making it tough for dealerships to move cars. Just make sure to get the final sales contract with everything laid out. And if anything feels off, don’t hesitate to walk away.

I’ve got 3,000 km on mine, and it’s been amazing. I can jump it, go through swamps, rivers, deep snow, bomb down gravel roads, and it feels almost as smooth as driving on pavement. It’s great for trails and rock crawling too, and still drives comfortably on regular roads. Definitely happy I went with the Raptor over the regular Bronco.

Can you handle losing $45k in depreciation over the next four years? If so, go for it.

I absolutely love my Bronco Raptor. Super comfortable, lots of power, and the suspension is incredible. I added the Ford Performance tune, and it’s a noticeable improvement. Depending on how I drive, I can get 16–17 MPG.

I’m holding out for something closer to $75k. That feels like the sweet spot. Haven’t seen one priced below $82k yet.
