Picked up this short roof rack from Hooke Road and loving it so far. It fits exactly what I needed without going for the full-length rack. Sharing here in case anyone’s thinking of trying something similar.
Seattle Bronco owner here too. Nice setup… I might check this out.

Haha, yeah, hard to miss the Space Needle in the background.
Can you mount the middle roof section on the rack?

No, it has specific mounting slots on the back for that.

Yeah, I get that it’s not designed for it, but could you just strap it down somehow? Like, would it fit without damaging anything? Would be cool if this rack could store the middle section easily.
@Ciel
If you made longer brackets, it might work, but the regular hardware won’t do it.

I think the question is whether you could remove the middle roof section and strap it onto the rack for storage.
@Keegan
Ohhh, yeah, I guess you could if you used some ratchet straps.
I like this rack. Right now, I want to be able to take off the front and middle roof panels sometimes, but with my current rack, I’d have to remove that first. I don’t take the rear section off because I’ve got nowhere to store it.
This looks great. Got any pics with the roof panels off? Also, any idea how you’d tie down a canoe or kayak? I want a setup like this for my boats.

Honestly, for boats, I’d go with a full rack. Wouldn’t want to risk scratching the roof. Hooke Road has a full rack that might work better since it’s segmented.
@Joey
Thanks!
I thought about getting this but wasn’t sure if it’d be big enough to be useful.

It works perfectly for what I need. Mainly got it for mounting my ski racks, and I can fit recovery boards, a shovel, and an axe too. After that, I’m out of space though.
Got one for the same reason… ski racks. Haven’t seen many others use it for that yet. Finding the right hardware for the crossbars was a bit tricky, but it’s the perfect size.
If you plan on loading multiple boards, you might have to remove the middle crossbar and front wind fairing to fit the bindings. Learned that the hard way when I tried loading four boards.
@Kai
Oh wow, I didn’t think of that. Thanks for the heads up! I’ve only loaded three boards and two pairs of skis so far, so I might not need to change anything yet.
@Kai
Just went out and tried it… you’re totally right. It’s about an inch too short for clearance. Looks like I can only fit two snowboards and two skis max for now.
