Ford is upgrading the Bronco and plug-in hybrid is coming in 2025

If it can still tow 3500, I’m all in.

That’s the great part about electric: likely unlimited torque. I’m curious to see what Ford comes up with.

Exactly! Just disappointed with hybrid towing, lol.

@Nova
Toyota: ‘Clean energy’
Tesla: ‘Clean energy’
Rivian: ‘Clean energy’
Audi: ‘Clean energy’

Porsche: ‘MORE TORQUE PLEASE THANK YOU’

I haven’t even thought about trading in my 21. But this might make me consider it. I get jealous seeing the 4xEs go by quietly around town.

Please don’t mess up the redesign.

I hope they keep the styling mostly the same and just offer new options for fun.

I agree. They should keep it as is but maybe just tweak the grille slightly or something.

The benefit is you get 20-30 miles of electric only range. You don’t need to plug them in and they work just as you describe as ‘standard non plug-ins’. The difference is a bigger battery that lets you drive on electric power for short trips.

I have a Jeep 4xe and driving electric for my daily trips is great. I prefer electric over gas. I can still use gas for long trips without worrying about charging. Off the road, at the beach, or where these cars shine, electric performance leads with instant torque.

A plug-in option will still charge when braking, so it’s kind of the best of both worlds.

All hybrids use regenerative braking, not just those that plug in.

The plug-in offers all the perks of a regular hybrid plus the ability to recharge while parked. It usually has a bigger battery than a standard hybrid too. That would let me go one way on my commute entirely electric, and I have free charging at work.

@Parker
A full EV would cover most of my driving tasks just by charging at home. That’s what excites me most when I finally decide to switch.

For off-roaders, less noise and pollution is a win. I hope they allow us to choose when to use the battery like the Jeep 4xe does. I drive about 8-10 miles each way for work and wheel on weekends. That would mean using nearly no fuel during the week, only using gas when I hit the off-road parks. I also hope they borrow the 7.2kwh hybrid options from PowerBoost for overlanding. I could find a quiet spot to camp all weekend using a fraction of gas. The only downside for me is the added weight and avoiding puncturing the battery while off-roading. Cheers :beers:.

The plug allows you to get up to $7500 off your federal taxes…

I’d love to see a Heritage edition 2-door plug-in hybrid. Please make it happen Ford will beat Jeep since they don’t have a 4xe 2-door.

Pretty sure they are just talking about the Sport model here.

I predict another billion-dollar loss for Ford. If it wasn’t for federal money, nobody could afford an EV.

Wait until you learn about gas subsidies.

They should eliminate those and all dairy subsidies. Even if you add them together, they’re still not on the same level as EV subsidies. But that’s how they keep voters happy. Don’t forget about foreign aid and other giveaways. I also know about the climate change agenda where some can fly around in their jets while telling others to do without.

@Ciel
So gas is bad, but EVs are bad for some reason too. Got it.
