Here’s my backstory: I used to have a Toyota 86, a 2-door sports car that always got compliments. It was green with bronze aftermarket wheels and lowered on coilovers. It was the first car I bought myself, so I got really attached. In June, I totaled it, and since then I’ve been thinking about getting a Bronco. I work as a technician at a Ford dealership, so I see the build quality and software that Ford has. Honestly, I’m not a fan of their software. It just doesn’t feel right to me, and that makes me second guess buying a Bronco. I do like how it looks though. So, my question is, do any of you feel like the Bronco isn’t worth the wait or the money?

The thing is, almost everyone I see buys one because it looks cool. Here, girls love Jeeps and now they are loving Broncos too. They don’t care if it’s the highest quality or anything, they just want it to look good.
Nothing wrong with that, but many people buy it just for its appearance.
Exactly, when buying these types of cars, you have to know what you’re getting into. I knew most of it but didn’t consider the chance of having a leaky roof.
In terms of comfort, I think the Bronco has plenty. I wouldn’t mind a higher trim with rear locking differentials and everything. That’s where I’d invest my money if I could.

I just placed my order for a Wildtrak two weeks ago and got a build date in July! I’m so excited and glad you’re enjoying yours. Mine just costs $7k more lol.
My wife has a Kia Telluride, and I got a 2-door Badlands Sasquatch with a 2.7 engine. Honestly, no luxury stuff can compare to what a Kia Telluride or Honda Pilot can do. Their design is meant for comfort. None can match the Bronco off-road because that’s what it is designed for. Sure, owners may say they love their top trims, but they weren’t made to be comfy road cars. They do that job fine, and I’d say about 90% of Bronco owners use them mainly for that. But things like adaptive cruise control and lane keeping can’t match what Kia or Honda offer on the road. It’s obvious Ford didn’t spend hours tuning the Bronco’s aerodynamics in a wind tunnel. It’s built to compete with Jeep off-road. And it’s the best in that category. Consumer expectations often affect how people feel about a product more than the product itself, and that’s mainly due to Ford’s marketing and dealership training. If you disagree, ask yourself why Ford named its experiential marketing event Off-Roadeo and not On-Roadeo.

I got a top trim because it’s my daily driver and there were some luxury features I wanted that are only available on the Lux trim. But I chose the Bronco mainly for off-roading, since I live in an area that sees a lot of snow. I was in a Mitsubishi Outlander last night that has great tech; its lane keeping and autopilot are on par with Tesla. The all-wheel drive works well in various weather. The infotainment system was great.
But I would have gladly burned that thing and pushed it down a hill to take my Bronco out in the snowstorm instead.
@Blaine
The fun factor is hard to beat.

This. All of this.
My wife loves her Telluride which has the mid trim with heated steering wheel and adaptive cruise control. It fits her perfectly; it’s smooth and comfortable. I’ve had my Bronco for six weeks, and every day I can’t help but think how awesome it is. CarPlay works well. I do run into some syncing issues with other media changes, but my mid trim has everything I need.
I have both a Subaru BRZ and a Bronco Wildtrak. The features in the Subaru seem basic compared to the Bronco. It’s refreshing to have a car under warranty with a high-tech and fast infotainment system, 360 camera, backup sensors, and more. Both cars are built to excel in their specific areas, but the Bronco offers a lot more comfort for daily drives or adventures.
I got mine in September and I absolutely love it. I don’t even go off-road much, but it’s my favorite car ever.
About the software, do people even use most of it? I just use Android Auto.

Who really uses factory software from any car company? We just plug our phones in.
I’d like to hear from the person who posted this about why they think the software isn’t good. What didn’t you like about it? I’ve had my Bronco for about six to seven weeks, and I haven’t explored the software much. All I do is plug in a USB drive to listen to my music. I’ve never used AM/FM or satellite radio, and I tried CarPlay once just to see if it worked. I’d like to hear opinions from people in the know.
That being said, I love my 2-door Outer Banks with the Lux package. I bought my Bronco just for how it looks. I’m not planning to take it off-road and will rarely remove the top. I don’t go camping or outdoorsy. I don’t tow or haul anything. I really won’t use it for any of its intended use besides needing 4-wheel drive for snow. No regrets though. It’s a blast to drive!

I think Ford just doesn’t have a good interface. I currently have a brand new 2022 Navigator with 1400 miles, but CarPlay and Android Auto aren’t working. Ford’s tech support is good, which is a plus, but the software can still be glitchy. There are lag issues and issues with the cameras at 15k miles. SYNC 4 is a big improvement from SYNC 3 and earlier, but I still notice some lag that I didn’t have in my Toyota. Plus, it bothers me that they moved some things to touch-only controls like climate settings on Navigators.
@Mika
I had a 2020 MB GLC 43 with the latest MBUX and I prefer Sync 4 over that system. MBUX was busy and annoying to navigate, trying to find specific settings was a major complaint I had. Sync 4 is much cleaner and simpler.
@Tarian
This! Mercedes-Benz tech is one of the most user-unfriendly interfaces out there.
I have an Outer Banks Advanced and ordered a Badlands since 7/9/21.
All I can say is I like the Bronco more every day. I can’t wait to get my hands on a Raptor too. I think it’s the coolest vehicle Ford has made in quite some time!
The Bronco is priced about right, while the 86 is a great value that’s hard to match with most future cars.
The Bronco is fun and a beast off-road.
