Blinker turns on by itself… anyone else had this

This one’s a bit odd, but I wanted to share in case anyone else has noticed it. My wife and I both have Broncos, and we’ve both run into the same issue. After signaling for a right turn, the blinker should turn off once the turn is complete—but instead, the left blinker comes on. It threw us off for a while because we’d never seen anything like it before, and we actually started wondering if we were imagining things.

Just putting this out there in case anyone else has experienced it and thought they were losing it.

2022 Wildtrak & 2023 Badlands.

Your Bronco is thinking for itself now? Guess it’s contemplating life and the meaning of blinkers :joy:

Same issue with my 2024 Black Diamond. Went to the dealer and they said lots of people are reporting it.

My wife was driving and made a right turn. Right after, some guy turned left in front of us and she had to slam the brakes. He later tracked us down and said our left blinker was on, so he thought we were also turning left. Super frustrating.

Four years into production and they still can’t get the blinkers right? Someone at the factory had a few too many Milwaukee’s :joy:

I’m considering rolling the dice on the first year 4Runner Gen 6 instead.

Mine does this too

Dealer told me the counterweight that turns the blinker off is too heavy, which ends up triggering the left signal. Can’t believe there’s no fix for this, but I’ve kinda given up on it.

Forgot to mention—my wife’s Bronco got a warranty repair for this. The tech replaced a blinker part, and the issue hasn’t happened since.

I’ll have mine fixed when I go in for my next oil change.

@Cody
Oh wow, I should take mine back then. I’ve got a 2023 Wildtrak, had it checked last year.

@Cody
Might as well swap out the turbo while you’re at it :joy:

@Cody
How long did the repair take? Did they give her a rental? I have a few issues on my 2023 Outer Banks and getting a rental has been a nightmare.

No rental needed. They diagnosed it, ordered the part, and had us bring it back. It was done the same afternoon.

@Cody
Man, you guys got lucky! :sob:

@Cody
LOL… wish my dealer worked like that. Any warranty issue, even with an appointment, takes at least a week before they even look at it.

If you don’t leave your car, you go to the back of the line. They won’t even say ‘bring it in at 9 AM and we’ll check it.’ Nope, gotta leave it there just to get in the queue.

Had a random alarm issue with my 2023 Badlands—kept saying the hood was open. Adjusted it based on forum advice, still kept going off. Earliest appointment was a month out. Dropped it off, and it sat there for two weeks before they finally called and said, ‘could not duplicate… next software update should fix it.’

No loaners either because ‘you didn’t ask for that in your sales agreement.’ :clown_face:

Closest other dealers are a two-hour drive, and they’re even more backed up. First new Ford and definitely the last.

Same issue here, 2023 Wildtrak.

My Outer Banks does this too. Seems worse on sharper turns. A few times I didn’t even notice because I was blasting music. Super annoying.

Maybe your Bronco’s just enthusiastic :joy:

Forgot to mention—had my wife’s fixed under warranty. They replaced a blinker component, and she hasn’t had the issue since.

Planning to get mine done when I take it in for an oil change.

Had this problem since I got my 2023 Outer Banks. Already replaced the signal stalk twice under warranty.

Never heard of this before, but based on the comments, it seems pretty common. My 2024 doesn’t do this.
