Anyone else dealing with infotainment glitches?

Is anyone else’s infotainment system acting up? Mine randomly stops streaming Spotify … screen shows it’s playing, but no sound. Apple Music works fine, but CarPlay disconnects or won’t connect at all sometimes.

I’ve had to keep resetting by holding down the volume and forward buttons.

Could it be user error or something else?

This is so frustrating. I never used CarPlay until recently, and now I can’t go without it. Crazy that my old Honda works fine with it, but it’s a mess on my brand-new car.

Thinking of getting a Bronco and came here to check it out … are you saying newer models don’t fully support CarPlay and Android Auto, or is it just a bit glitchy?

@Shawn
It’s a bit glitchy for me … or maybe it’s something I’m doing wrong. Could get fixed with an update. Sometimes I have to redo the whole setup, but maybe that’s just me.

Thanks for clearing that up! That would’ve been a deal-breaker. It’s mind-boggling when a brand removes features like this. At least a glitch can be fixed with an update …

@Shawn
Totally agree. They probably want to switch to their own system to avoid paying Apple. I wasn’t a big tech guy before, but once I saw how well Apple Maps and YouTube Music work, I was hooked. I also love using the off-road app on the Bronco display.

@Shawn
CarPlay works, but it’s a bit touchy. Works 90% of the time for me. If it acts up, I just restart the car, and it usually comes back.

Had my Bronco most of this year and didn’t have issues until recently. Now it’s happening on nearly every drive. Really hoping for a fix soon because it’s a pain.

I work at the assembly plant, and we’ve had a lot of issues with the screens and interface parts. There’s been production delays, and we’re expecting more downtime soon for parts updates.

Most glitchy system I’ve ever used in a car.

Switching to FM and back sometimes fixes it for me. Annoying, but it works … most of the time, anyway.

I’ll try that next time, thanks!

Same issue with Android Auto over Bluetooth. Audio stops but still shows as playing on the screen. If I hit the voice command button, sound comes back but at a much lower volume.

Changing to FM and back works about half the time. If it doesn’t, I do a hard reset by holding the volume knob, play, and skip buttons for 10 seconds. Just be warned—the screen goes to max brightness after a reboot, which can be blinding at night.

Had some glitches, super embarrassing when I have passengers. Started updating my phone more regularly, and it’s helped a bit. Haven’t had issues for the past month or so. Hope it stays that way.

Yeah, it’s a known issue. Tried a software update, but it just removed the option for passengers to connect while driving and kept all the bugs.

Mine was perfect the first couple of months but now glitches almost every drive.

Same here. Worked fine at first, but now it’s hit or miss if I can listen to Spotify.

Yes, it’s been happening all the time lately.

2024 Badlands here. Wireless CarPlay shows it’s playing but loses sound sometimes. Here’s my fix:

  1. Turn on WiFi on your phone. It’ll warn that CarPlay will disconnect. That’s what we want.

  2. After it disconnects, turn WiFi back off on your phone.

  3. On the Ford screen, go to the phone listing and tap the CarPlay icon to reconnect.

Annoying, but it’s a quick fix when it happens.

Mine froze yesterday for the first time … radio kept playing, but the screen was locked up. Wonder if there was an update or something?
