I’ve got a few questions that popped up from some other posts, and I’m hoping to hear from folks who have experience with these:
Someone mentioned bugs getting in through the Bronco soft top. Is this a common problem or just an issue with soft tops?
How does the Bronco handle really cold weather (like ice, negative temps)? Any problems with windows freezing, engines running slow, or other winter-related issues?
Is the window rattle problem fixed in the 2024 models? Apparently, if the windows are halfway down, they shake when driving over 40 mph.

Thanks for that!
Personally, I haven’t had this issue with my 2024. I don’t usually drive with my frameless windows halfway down though. I either crack them open a little or put them all the way down, never in between unless parked.
I’ve only had my Bronco for a few weeks, but one of the first things I checked was the window rattling. So far, no issues. The windows do sound a little clunky when opening or closing the door, but that’s probably expected with frameless windows.

I’ve only noticed the usual number of bugs in my Bronco compared to other cars. Not a big deal.

Sort of. My Bronco feels much better when it’s above 40°F. When it’s really cold, it feels a bit stiff until it warms up. I haven’t had any problems with windows or anything else. The engine feeling a bit off in cold weather seems more like a characteristic than a problem.

There was one time where rain turned into snow, then back into rain, which caused a layer of ice to form on top of the soft top. It was about an inch thick, and I couldn’t scrape it off. I drove to work fine, but later in the day, it must have melted, and pieces of it started flying off while I was driving home. I had to pull over and scrape the rest off. Most of the time, though, snow just slides off without an issue.
Last winter, we had temps between -20°F and -40°F for about a week. My Bronco stayed outside the entire time, and I plugged in the block heater. It ran fine, kept the cabin warm, and had no major issues. The only problem was my driver’s side window having trouble rolling back up after I rolled it down to pass through a gate. That’s likely due to the grease freezing in the door at such low temps.
I haven’t noticed bugs coming in with my soft top, but I also park in a garage. There have been a few times during strong snowstorms where a bit of snow got in due to crosswinds.
We don’t get super cold weather here in the Pacific Northwest, but on trips to the Midwest during winter, everything ran smoothly. One issue I’ve had is that slushy snow can build up on the sensors in the bumper, which can cause errors. These go away once I clear off the sensors.
As for window rattles, I had them but followed a service bulletin to fix them myself in about 5 minutes. I also had to do a window reset procedure multiple times when the window refused to close and rolled back down.
The only time I notice window rattle is when I hit a big pothole, and it’s hit or miss. Sometimes the window jumps a little, sometimes it doesn’t. It’s just a quick one-second rattle, nothing that really bothers me. I’ve got a 2024 2-door hardtop, just picked it up last night.
I haven’t noticed any more bugs than usual with my soft top. Been in Oregon since last October.
No issues in cold weather. We had some ice storms, and my Bronco had to stay outside. The soft top didn’t feel any colder than a regular car, and once warmed up inside, it was comfortable. Takes about 3-5 minutes to warm up, which is about the same as other cars.
Not sure about the rattle fix, but I think there’s an easy solution for it. Haven’t tried it yet myself.
